PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM ‑ Mission Statement

PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM is a not-for‑profit corporation established for the purpose of promoting the sport of amateur triathlon racing. Members are provided with organized training rides, runs and swims.  PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM sponsors are companies and or individuals who wish to support a developmental triathlon racing team in return for publicity and community good will.

1.0          Definition of a club member

Members of PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM:

                1.1      A member will race solely for PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM, wearing the PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM uniform, and claiming PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM on their USAT license and/or race applications. Members are eligible for all benefits of the PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM program.

2.0          Duties, responsibilities, governing of members

                2.1      Members participating in races and training events generate publicity for PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM and its sponsors.  It is expected of all members to represent the club with pride, dignity and respect at all times.

                2.2      Each member will support the sponsors by purchasing and then wearing the team uniform in organized races.

                2.3      Members will not approach current club sponsors requesting individual or additional sponsorship monies. 

2.4      While wearing any PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM uniform, each member will set an example to others in the community by wearing a helmet and obeying all traffic laws.

                2.5      All members who wear a PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM uniform will properly enter events and pay the appropriate entry fees.

                2.6      Members are encouraged to assist in the organization and running of PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM race events, training events and/or charitable fund raising events.  Assistance in these events may prevent the Club member from participating in the race.

                2.7      Annual Dues for all members will be $25 per person

                2.8      All club members are released from any and all contracts regarding PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM on March, 1^st of the following calendar year.

3.0          Duties of PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM

                3.1      PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM will obtain the maximum practical sponsorship.

                3.2      PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM will maintain the status of a non-profit organization.

                3.3      PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM will maintain the status of a registered club with the USAT.

                3.4      PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM will promote events in compliance with our agreement with the USAT.

PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM CONTRACT

4.0 Release, Assumption of Risk and Indemnification Agreement

                4.1      In consideration of the PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM permitting me to participate in team events as a member, I hereby release and forever discharge PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM, sponsors, and their agents, servants and employees, from any and all liability arising out of my participation or travel to or from team events. I am fully aware of the dangers inherent in any multisport event and in travel to and from such event and expressly assume the risk of collisions and falls in connection with such a race or event.                 4.2      Additionally, I hereby agree that I will hold PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM harmless and indemnified from any and all sums, claims, or judgments whatsoever which may be assessed against PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM as a result of, as a consequence of my involvement in or in traveling to or from the said event.

                4.3      I further certify that I have read and fully understand the within Contract, Release, Assumption of Risk and Indemnification Agreement and that the contents were completely and candidly made to me and that I am voluntarily consenting thereto.

5.0          Conduct

5.1      Members of the PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM are bound by any and all but not limited to PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM, USAT, IRS, USA Government and its bodies, any State Government and any other Nation’s laws, rules and regulations and its their responsibility to obey these rules regardless of knowledge.

                5.2      Any incidents, mishaps, fighting, infractions or any other conduct related manner will be reviewed and judged by the board of PROVIDENCE TRIATHLON TEAM and any appropriate ruling will be set forth with the member notified by email, phone or letter of the outcome.
